What is the Hourly Associate program?

It lets you work as a remote associate on an as-needed hourly basis. Some weeks there may be a lot of work and other weeks little or none, so it pairs well with your own practice.

How long of a time commitment do I make?

There is no minimum. Every opportunity lists an estimated duration and weekly hours, and you can opt out of the Hourly Associate program at any time.

How do I know how many hours I have worked?

Your dashboard shows the set maximum weekly hours, hours logged this week, this month, and last month. Hours are due Sundays, timecards go out Mondays, and the hiring attorney reviews them through Friday.

How does malpractice insurance work?

You are not required to carry professional liability insurance. The work does not put you in the practice of law, so professional responsibility and the final work product stay with the hiring attorney.

What kind of work can I do?

Any type of written work: legal research, discovery, and drafting documents of any kind.

How often am I paid?

Weekly. Payments are made by direct deposit and LAWCLERK initiates them on Mondays; depending on your bank they may take a few days to land.
